Updated June 16, 2026 with new reporting. This is a material process update to the existing KNC story because the project has now reached the Planning Board agenda after the May 28 ZBA hearing.
The proposed two-bay car wash at 542 Maple Ave is now on Wilton’s June 17 Planning Board agenda after the ZBA opened a variance hearing on May 28 but did not vote.
KNC Touchfree Car Wash is scheduled to appear on Wilton’s June 17 Planning Board agenda for a special use permit even though the related Zoning Board of Appeals case is not finished yet.
KNC Touchfree Car Wash is scheduled to appear on Wilton’s June 17 Planning Board agenda for a special use permit even though the related Zoning Board of Appeals case is not finished yet.
The agenda describes a proposed 2,700-square-foot, two-bay touch-free car wash at 542 Maple Ave (Route 9).
Draft May 28 ZBA minutes show the board opened a public hearing on the requested area variances but did not vote because Saratoga County Planning Board comments had not yet arrived. Those same draft minutes show residents raised concerns about traffic, runoff, well water, lighting and noise. The public hearing remained open when the meeting adjourned.
That means the project is now active before both boards. The Planning Board meeting on June 17 should show how Wilton handles the special-use-permit side of the application, while the next ZBA record to watch is the board’s June 25 meeting.
For nearby residents, the practical change is simple: the proposal is no longer just a variance case. It has moved into the Planning Board’s regular project-review track as well.
