Updated June 06, 2026 with new reporting. This is a material new step in the same ongoing code-rewrite story, with a posted agenda adding additional draft-law topics ahead of a public meeting.
A newly posted committee agenda shows Wilton’s code rewrite expanding into outdoor-lighting and private wastewater rules alongside hamlet, comprehensive-plan, and BESS discussions.
Wilton’s Code & Zoning Revision Committee has posted a new agenda for Monday, June 8, 2026, and it adds two notable code items beyond the topics already moving through Town Board hearings: a draft outdoor-lighting law and a draft chapter on septic and private wastewater disposal.
The one-page agenda for the June 8 committee meeting lists six substantive discussion items after approval of the May 11 minutes: a comprehensive-plan gap analysis, a Hamlet District (H-1) gap analysis, battery energy storage systems and solar, a draft outdoor-lighting law, and a draft local law on septic and private wastewater disposal.
That matters because Wilton’s code revision work had already been active on temporary merchants, a battery energy storage system moratorium, Building Department fees, telecom towers, and sign rules. The new agenda shows the committee’s work continuing to spread into other parts of the code.
The May 11 committee minutes had already said the June meeting would begin with gap-analysis work and Solar/BESS discussion. Those same minutes also noted that outdoor lighting had only been discussed briefly in May and that fuller discussion was deferred. The June 8 agenda now moves outdoor lighting into a draft-local-law slot.
The septic and private wastewater item appears to be a new public agenda label, at least compared with the brief May 11 minutes posted by the town. The agenda does not include draft text on the page itself, so the practical reach of that proposal is not yet clear from the public posting alone.
The committee is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Wilton Town Hall.
